RE Capital, the pan-European investment, development and asset management company, announces the appointment of Gavin Green as General Counsel. Gavin will head up the company’s legal activities across all jurisdictions and will start with RE Capital in London in February 2022.
He will sit on the executive committee and advise corporately and at local level on risk management, legal processes, structuring, compliance, debt, and transactional work amongst other matters.
Prior to joining RE Capital, Gavin has acted as General Counsel for MARK and Crossbay, overseeing all legal workstreams and managing external counsel. Prior to this, he spent six and a half years at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and then Ropes & Gray for five years, during which he did a 10-month secondment in Goldman Sachs’ Loan Negotiation and Structuring Team.
As well as considerable experience in structuring, debt, limited partnership agreements, litigation and counsel, Gavin was the founding member of MARK’s ESG committee, working towards inclusion and improvement on GRESB and UNPRI.
Gavin has a broad legal multi-jurisdictional experience, spanning international leveraged and investment grade acquisitions (including bank and bond financings), real estate and logistics acquisitions (private, public and auction) and financings, portfolio acquisitions, litigation (out of court settlements) and court processes, treasuring and business restructuring and insolvency.
