RE Capital secures planning for DMA designed lifestyle hotel in the heart of Camden Town
RE Capital has obtained planning consent from Camden Council for its new lifestyle hotel at 7AB&C Bayham Street, NW1. DMA, the global hospitality design specialist was appointed by RE Capital to enhance the already-consented hotel scheme with the aim of increasing capacity and improving its design and ESG credentials.

DMA’s redesign has created 70 rooms, an increase from 58 under the original planning consent. The project also provides 5,810 sq ft of co-working office space and a reconfigured reception area, with a unique speak-easy bar at ground floor level.
The new hotel will provide a unique hospitality offer to the area and is situated adjacent to KOKO Theatre, an international live music venue, which is due for opening in March this year.
The hotel consent builds on the success of RE Capital’s neighbouring residential project, where a new 38 apartment complex was completed at 3,5,7 Bayham Street and 48 – 56 Bayham Place in December 2019.

Across all floors, DMA has reconfigured guest rooms to improve the general circulation and standardise the layouts. Ten guest rooms have also been introduced at basement level.
The main façade, reflective of an industrial warehouse, has been revised to reflect the new internal layouts and Camden Town context. The design of the North, South and West facades has been simplified for greater integration with neighbouring buildings, with an emphasis on improving privacy.

Once completed, the scheme, taken forward by DMA’s architecture and interior design teams, will exemplify a high level of design throughout. The hotel will contain a reception and café, bar, private dining spaces and shared workspace alongside 70 guestrooms and a dedicated floor of suites.”
